Middle School Mastery Math
In Mastery Math, students take charge of their learning and move through Common Core math standards at their own pace. Led by Garrett Austen, this class blends structure with independence — helping students not only master math but also develop the skills that make lifelong learners.
Each week begins with Goal Setting:
Students identify what they want to learn, map out their study blocks at RadAcad, and track their own progress. Along the way, they learn time management, accountability, and self-motivation and they’ll work with Garrett to create personalized incentives for reaching their goals.
Students can choose how they learn best: through mini-lessons, IXL, Khan Academy, YouTube tutorials, collaborative work, projects, or one-on-one tutoring. They also choose how to show mastery — by teaching peers, creating instructional videos, completing projects, mastering IXL or Khan Academy modules, or applying concepts in real-world contexts like design and data.

Wednesdays @ 10:30am - 11:30am
Attention all middle school and high school homeschooling students! Come read with us! Book clubs are a wonderful way to read new books, practice discussion and analytical thinking skills, and meet new friends.
We will read across a variety of genres. Our first book will be Ender's Game, by Orson Scott Card. Ender is a Third, a boy bred specifically for his potential to lead humanity in a war against an alien race. He is a gifted outcast, lonely, and under immense pressure to succeed. This is a great novel for anyone who has ever felt different, misunderstood, or alone -- in other words, all of us. Explore with us the ethics and themes of giftedness, friendship, moral decision-making, and the definition of humanity. Will Ender save the world? Will he be able to save himself? And at what cost?

Science – Exploring a Multidimensional World invites students to see science not as isolated subjects, but as an interconnected way of understanding how the world works. This class blends biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and systems thinking into a cohesive, curiosity-driven experience.
Students investigate big questions across multiple dimensions—matter and energy, living systems, forces and motion, patterns, scale, and cause-and-effect. Lessons are hands-on and inquiry-based, emphasizing experimentation, observation, modeling, and discussion. Students are encouraged to ask “why,” make predictions, test ideas, and reflect on results.
Rather than memorizing facts, students learn to think like scientists: recognizing connections between disciplines, understanding how small changes ripple through systems, and applying concepts to real-world phenomena. Projects may include experiments, builds, simulations, outdoor investigations, and collaborative challenges.
This class is ideal for students who are curious about how things work, enjoy hands-on learning, and thrive when given space to explore ideas deeply and creatively.

Beginner Spanish is an introductory course for students with little to no prior experience in Spanish. The class focuses on building a strong foundation in listening and speaking while gradually introducing reading and writing in a clear, supportive way.
Students learn essential vocabulary and everyday phrases—such as greetings, introductions, numbers, colors, family, food, and daily activities—while beginning to form simple sentences. Grammar is introduced gently and in context, helping students understand how the language works without overwhelming detail.
Lessons are interactive and engaging, using games, dialogue practice, visuals, and cultural exploration to make learning feel natural and enjoyable. Emphasis is placed on participation, repetition, and confidence-building, with a classroom culture that encourages risk-taking and curiosity.
This class is ideal for students who are new to Spanish and want a steady, encouraging introduction to the language.
