K-2 Learning Pod
A World of Curiosity, Adventure, and Community
Our Philosophy
Radical Minds Academy was founded on the belief that curiosity drives real learning. Our K–2 program nurtures each child’s natural wonder while building strong academic and emotional foundations. Influenced by the Sudbury model, which empowers students to take ownership of their education, and the Forest School model, which roots learning in nature and play, our approach blends hands-on academics, outdoor discovery, and self-directed growth.
Children learn best when they feel known and trusted. Our teachers act as mentors and guides, helping students explore questions, pursue ideas, and connect their work to the broader world. The outdoors serves as a true classroom—offering space for reflection, problem-solving, and adventure.
Through project-based learning, community involvement, and integrated academics, students gain both knowledge and character—developing confidence, creativity, and compassion. This approach helps them understand not just how things work, but why they matter. We want students to see that their curiosity can be a force for good and that their ideas and actions have the power to make a difference.
Travel and family experiences are an integral part of our learning model. Teachers work with families to incorporate travel into each child’s learning plan, turning trips into meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities rather than breaks from school.
